Disneyland Resort Californie

Ce projet naît en 1948 sous forme d'une note interne de Walt Disney. En 1952, il marque une étape avec la création de WED Entreprises, une société dédiée à la conception du parc. Après un an de travaux, et un investissement de 17 millions de $, le parc est inauguré le samedi 17 juillet 1955 et ouvre au public le lendemain. Le concept original de Walt Disney était de voir un parc permanent et familial de loisirs sans les éléments négatifs souvent associés aux carnavals et fêtes foraines.
Le parc Disneyland de Californie est le premier des parcs Disney, et le seul « royaume enchanté » conçu et vu par Monsieur Walt Disney.
Le parc a été construit sur une ancienne orangeraie d'Anaheim de 730 000 m2, dans le comté d'Orange, à une trentaine de kilomètres au sud-est de Los Angeles. Seuls 370 000 m2 constituent le parc proprement dit, c'est le plus petit des royaumes enchantés de Disney. Le parc est surnommé « L'endroit le plus joyeux du monde » (Happiest Place on Earth).


En 2001, le Disney's California Adventure fut ouvert au public.

Ce Resort se compose du Disneyland Park, du Disney’s California Adventure et de Downtown District Disney. Deux parcs d’attractions et un lieu de loisir, de shoping et de repas.

Disney California Adventure

Disney California Adventure est le second parc du complexe de Disneyland Resort, ouvert en janvier 2001 à la place de l'ancien parking de surface de Disneyland. Les parcs sont séparés par une esplanade piétonne dont les guichets permettent d'acheter les billets pour les deux parcs.
